Re: Lions and Bombers Game Day Thread

Yet another reason why Wally should move upstairs next season. This team has not shown any discipline or accountability all season. Why didn't he call a time out and address his troops when the implosion was evident?

I can't recall a bigger free fall in one game. :bang:

Re: The Lions' Transformed Roster, October, 2010

One of the most under-rated acquisitions during the 2010 season has been Jonathan Brown. Not only has he been a force on the field, but by all accounts his influence has been more acutely felt on the practice field and in the locker room. He's mentored the young guys on how to be a pro and, in the c...

Re: David Hyland Q&A

Great interview. I couldn't help but think that maybe he and his Dad can provide some marketing solutions for the Lions. DH Lions would have to rethink that. :2cents: Actually, Rethink is out of the picture. DDB is their new ad agency of record. I think DDB handles all of their measured medi...

Re: Lions add five with practice roster expansion

Well, if I am reading your email correctly, you're still saying we need to go another route. Po-tay-to, po-tah-to. Either an NFL castoff, or one of the existing O-linemen (i.e. McGrath). I am saying he was solid all year at right guard and now he's ready to take the much bigger step up to left tackl...

Re: Lions add five with practice roster expansion

The Lions will have a surplus of interior linemen next year with Valli, Jones and Newman in the mix for starting positions. They still need depth at tackle but that's a tough position to fill. They certainly have quantity but do they have quality ? I would say our NI O Line talent is very good and ...

Re: Winnipeg makes Qb change

While the natural tendency is to be ecstatic over this development, I hope Wally is showing his team the game film of Ricky Santos, Montreal's 3rd string QB (actually 4th string now that AC is back) who completed a few too many passes for my liking back on September 3. Yes, it was mostly in garbage ...

Re: Nick Moore a Lion

Just curious as to why we need a WR at this stage of the game This was expected. One of several signings the Lions are reported to be interested in making as the CFL allows its teams (starting tomorrow) to stock an extra 5 players on the practice roster. Typically though, it's an "audition&quo...

Re: Team 1410 is disgusting

It's no secret that the Dennis Skulsky is not happy with their move to 1410 and that 'NW will make a big pitch when their contract with TEAM expires at the end of the year. STORY HERE I am not usually a TEAM whiner when it comes to coverage and exposure of the Lions (which I think is pretty fair), b...

Re: Travis, Casey and Managing the Game - Jim Mullin

The fact is that Printes was trying to do what Chap wanted...stay in the pocket and execute Chaps offence but if the first read is covered and the blitz is there, you don't have time to go through your progressions. However, Printers needs to get back to his old style and say to heck with it. Lulay...

Re: David Hyland

Why did he run out of bounds after his INT? Didn't look like there was anyone around him. I was watching from behind. It looked like there were a couple of people closing from the front and side. He wouldn't have gotten much farther. Ask Nate Clements if Hyland made the right choice after the inter...

David Hyland

This guy appears to be a great find. Great instincts - was always around the ball last night and made a wonderfully athletic interception, stepping right in front of Brock Ralph (and Stanley Franks) to pick off Jyles's pass. He reminds me of another aggressive DB/safety who played here in the 70's: ...

Re: Lions 16 - Bombers 14 Post Game Stats and Comments

To be honest, I don't notice the frequent TV timeouts "live" nearly as much, as there is always something going on in the stadium to divert one's attention. Unfortunately, TSN seemingly airs an endless loop of 7 commercials which become grating midway through the first quarter. "Our m...
