"What's the fascination with fireworks here?" I have no idea - did they originate in Asia (stronger Asian influence here)? This makes sense. I've experienced 3 Chinese New Years while living in China and it is almost undescribable the noise level from firecrackers/fireworks for about 30 m...

It is my understanding that fireworks festivals are quite popular the world over. You should check them out next summer, they are quite fun, especially with the 'fireworks' on Canada Day being little more than sparklers. 8) Already have, MN -- sorry, they just don't do much for me... even without t...

As a non-local, my take is: this place has some sort of fireworks fetish. Where else in the world would over 100k people gather just to watch them for 15 minutes on a summer Saturday, and spend an hour or more commuting each way in the process? If that's the highlight of summer here, we've g...

Why not for the Grey Cup Not a chance even if he would. Its the Grey Cup and the powers that be wouldnt let a paid cheerleader for a neutral sight work. We tried it in the GC of 83. BB I remember seeing him at the '94 GC but I don't think he was doing any cheerleading, except for getting the B... C...

Yeah, where's Robbie getting 20,202 from? Isn't that capacity at Percival Molson Stadium? With the four game skid we were on, the opponent and the fact that there was nothing on the line in terms of clinching a playoff berth or first place or whatever, we were due for a letdown at the gate even with...

Finally #3 is always applaud when injured player is taken off field even if they're from the other team. Good one -- goes for all sports, not just football. Only exceptions to this one I can recall are Ulf Samuelsson after Tie Domi laid him out in TO, and Dallas Cowboy WR Michael Irvin's final game...

Oh, I was thinking it was sarcasim. That's what I hate about reading posts. You can't properly guage the tone. for what its worth, I think I read it the same way you did. Yeah, it seemed to have that hypocritical format that Jim Rome fans (aka clones) use in emailing his radio show, but then there'...
