Re: Why?
One can look for a correlation, but I don't there is one. I don't think the Lions style of play is a cause. I don't think it is Wally's style of coaching. I don't think it is recruiting a certain style of quarterback. As much as it looks against the odds, I do think it is random. Only one thread of ...

Re: CFL.ca - Casey Printers expected to start against Riders
I saw most of that interview live. The reporter is a weasel (and very aggressive, shoving his way to the front of the group and getting his questions in first). He asked insulting questions (smiling all the while), which Casey answered very patiently and politely. He suggested that Casey was more ma...

Re: RGM. In your view, will he ever be a good receiver?
As of today, it would seem Michael Bumpus will play in place of RGM.
That would be on punt returns, and as a receiver.
IMO Bumpus looks like a good candidate. I hope he plays with confidence and shows good hands, speed and moves.

Re: Travis if Healthy, Casey as Backup - Lowell Ullrich
Wally is playing it coyly, and so is Casey. Running game reps had Travis and Jarious handing off with the 1st team O. But they could not throw. (In warming up TL and JJ were doing little baby tosses of about 6 steps to each other). Meanwhile at the other end of the field, passing game had Casey and ...

Re: Mallett, AJ Harris & roster moves ... blog of Lowell Ullrich
I don't think Wally has decided what RB combinations to use yet. Both Harris and Mallett got reps today. I didn't see any twin RB packages. My expectation, and my preference: give Mallett more rest. Harris is equally effective, although in somewhat different ways. Mallett is more explosive, a better...

Re: Stephen Williams Brings an Edge to Lions - Lowell Ullrich
Considering 2 things: 1 What Madden said about players giving opponents the business down there (in pileups). 2 That scheiss does happen in pileups in games. Stuff is going on all game. Williams got caught. Khan acted it out, or genuinely could not breathe. In either case, Williams got caught in no ...

From Mike Beamish's article ... B.C. Lions spoiled for talent at running back Harris, Mallett both getting the job done http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/football/lions/Lions+spoiled+talent+running+back/2125191/story.html Then there's the decision about what to do with Albert John (A.J.) Re: So which QB do the Riders gameplan for?
This is Casey's third chance in the league, but I agree that he and Wally have both handled the situation well. From a life point of view, seems like second chance to me. First time around he was MOP in the league. Then, riding high, he heads off on a wayward journey with stops in Kansas City and H...

Re: So which QB do the Riders gameplan for?
Casey's Karma. And Wally's too. Travis may be healthy enough to start. We will know more today. He has earned his time. Hopefully he is ready to go. His debut, as has been noted, was remarkable. So confident. So calm and cool. Such great escapability in the pocket. Such great scrambling. Such presen...

I wouldn't ever set out to hurt anyone deliberately unless it was, you know, important —like a league game or something." -Dick Butkus Ha ha. Oh that is awesome. Made me laugh out loud. Thanks for the quote, Ziggy. Dick Butkus was such an amazing player. One of the greatest defensive players o...

Re: Travis if Healthy, Casey as Backup - Lowell Ullrich
The thing that troubles me is , now Lulay has a bad shoulder too ??? And lets not forget the fact that CP had a bit of an injury history too . Reading other message boards it seems that Lulay made quite an impression with fans from all over with his debut . Re the injured QBs, I guess I am getting ...

Mallett, AJ Harris & roster moves ... blog of Lowell Ullrich
Some excerpts from the blog by Lowell Ullrich ... http://communities.canada.com/theprovince/blogs/fifthquarter/archive/2009/10/20/twin-tailbacks-double-trouble.aspx It sounds like such a great idea. Re: Stephen Williams Brings an Edge to Lions - Lowell Ullrich
Give Khan credit. Asked afterward by the media about the punch, Khan said: "No personal feelings. It happens. We played with a lot of emotion on both sides. It happened. No hard feelings. If I see the guy, I'll give him a hug." :beauty: Cool. I like Khan's attitude. Scheiss happens in the...
