Re: Higgins calls out Chad Johnson
It'a a paradox. He has to look very good to have any chance at a return to the NFL but at his age it's very unlikely. Not only did the Als give me an under the table out with a 1 year deal? If he plays well, why would they want to release him. If he doesn't start producing soon why would they keep ...

Re: Westerman charged re: alleged nightclub incident
We don't know much, if anything, about the details that led the squad to sit Westerman for a game in lieu of suspending him. Was this an over-reaction (in the opinion of some) to an isolated incident? According to others it's inadequate action. Was it an isolated incident or have there been other si...

Re: Westerman charged re: alleged nightclub incident
So all players should walk away from these situations, as their name is likely to be the only name printed and beside that the name of club they play for. Should be written on the first page of the playbook. Only problem with that theory is a lot of the individual's common sense that should kick in...

Re: CFL 2014 Rating the teams, after Week 6
#4. Regina. The defending champs are rounding into shape. Running backs a dime a dozen. Riders have a weird schedule. As you can see BC has played 4 against the West and 2 against the East splitting against both divisions. The Riders on the other hand have faced East competition 4 times out of 5 ga...

Re: Lions 25 - Stampeders 24 -- Post Game Stats and Comments
Thankfull for the win but Lions remain in the cellar with the Rider rout of Ottawa....they need to go on a winning streak just to keep pace and some loses to the Riders Stamps and Edmonton to move up....Hamilton will be desperate next Friday...no easy games Yep. A reality check is a look at the Wes...

Re: Westerman charged re: alleged nightclub incident
The incident occurred after the first home game, June 29th, so he's played 4 games since then. I don't agree with punishing players for "alleged" misconduct......in a country where innocent until PROVEN guilty is supposed to be the accepted norm, this practise of "guilty by pointed f...

Re: Lions 25 - Stampeders 24 -- Post Game Stats and Comments
Interesting the go for 2 debate. A few weeks ago the Bombers were in identical situations against Montreal and played them exactly the same as BC last night. With 8:37 to go they score a pick 6 to get within 2. They went for 2 to tie instead of 1 to trail. With 29 seconds left they scored a TD to go...

Re: Return Game Upgrade? Could This Be a Thing?
Interesting. However unless he's been working on remakes of Longest Yard while in the big house he'll be shaking off a minimum of 4 years of rust before a possible return to the CFL. As it says it won't be September 19th before his electronic monitoring device is removed. I'm thinking the bureaucrac...

Re: CFL Games, July 31 to Aug 2 Lions-Stamps Depth Chart
Doege moves up to the 46. Mitchell back in at DT. Hardrick at left guard. Fabien backup. I am guessing Schmitt will play. What do you make of the LG move WCJ? I thought Fabien had been playing well there. Do you think he may be suffering from a bit of swelling in that reconstructed knee? Or could t...

Re: Lions' O Line for 2014 - Disaster vs the Bombers
It seems Dorazio is now the official fan whipping boy meaning whatever goes wrong with the offence will be his fault in they eyes of many. He'll probably take heat when the defence and STs have an off game too. Since he's become a lightning rod for discontent I've become curious about one thing. If ...

Re: Bombers 23 - Lions 6 Post Game Stats and Comments
Good points regarding the OC job and the long time it took to fill...Lapolice & Cortez both said no and Lapo is good friends with Benny....also the factor in Dorazio controls the run blocking and not the OC....i cant see other CFL teams that the OC would not have total control over his offense....

Re: All things Lions Marketing/Promotions 2015
See it was all your fault sj. All those years we were forced to drink out of cups with limited options due to BCP's fear you'd go wild and run amuck naked in there.sj-roc wrote:Wow it's barely a year since I quit beer and it's like the whole experience has completely revolutionised since then. LOL

Re: All things Lions Marketing/Promotions 2015
The 'social butterfly thing' described here almost had me toss in my season tickets a few years ago. I have moved to the centre of the row but its still a problem. Thankfully its a lot less than when I had aisle seats. As a football junkie, I'm baffled at shelling out even $15 bucks (my tickets are...

Re: All things Lions Marketing/Promotions 2015
It certainly speeds up the process by eliminating the pouring. Methinks it's just a matter of time before they go back to serving them in cups. All it takes is some drunken yahoo to throw the cans onto the field. We're talking Vancouver here not Regina. Providing beer in cups only is definitely the...
