Re: Grey Cup halftime show is Imagine Dragons

1040's Sekeres wasn't all that impressed with this announcement. He floated Dave Bidini/Rheostatics as a better alternative. Which I guess means he never heard what Bidini had to say about the CFL the last time the Grey Cup was here. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/eastern-canada-tunes-out-of...

Re: Lulay to forgo surgery, eyes regular-season comeback

TEAM 1040 on the Pratt show said that all the off season surgery was completed undone according to the doctor. With that in mind, I can't see him throwing again without surgery that was deemed necessary in the off season, and it won't be with the authority that a QB needs this season. I recall that...

Re: Stampeders 14 - Lions 7 Post Game Stats and Comments

OK, LaPolice is better at TV football analysis then coaching, but who else is there out there that is HC material? Give Cortez, Hall, Stubler, or Belefuielle a second shot at HC? Are there any CIS HCs worth considering? I wouldn't give any CIS HC's consideration for a CFL HC job unless they have pr...

Re: Stampeders 14 - Lions 7 Post Game Stats and Comments

The the Lions need to open Braley's wallet and hire LaPolice as HC and play caller and make Kelly Bates the O line coach. I really don't understand the fixation with LaPolice. He comes across OK as a TSN analyst but his coaching track record is hardly something to write home about. His CFL coaching...

Re: All things Lions Marketing/Promotions 2014

Interesting that the added seating for the Ott game is all endzone seating while that for the Cgy game is all sideline seating, much like for Ssk. Reflects Cgy as a stronger draw (to the extent that they will pay for tickets, people will generally pay more to see them than an eastern team like Ott)...

On one bright note the Felion who sang the National Anthem did an outstanding job.

Re: Courtney Taylor - done for the year

Sorry to hear about Taylor's injury. A great contributor to the team. How is it possible that Jackson may not be dressed when he has twice as many yards as the other two wide-outs combined (298 vs 103 + 37)? BC has tended to practice their backup and PR INT receivers in specific positions. For the ...

Maybe because they're going to a football game and that's the only football jersey they have?

Re: Braley looks to secure lease at BMO Field

TORONTO - Toronto Argonauts owner David Braley has people kicking the tires of the franchise he hopes to sell, but his top priority is securing the team a lease at BMO Field. Resolution of the stadium situation really is the key to the Argos continued existence in Hogtown. I think it's the first do...

Re: Lions 26 - Bombers 9 -- Post Game Stats and Comments

Wasn't Mark Washington supposed to be an up and coming Defensive Coordinator ? Isn't that one of the reason why Rich Stubler was cast adrift, so the Lions can keep Washington ? I too am disappointed at the passive defence. In all fairness, perhaps Washington was told to run this type of defence by ...

Re: Lions 26 - Bombers 9 -- Post Game Stats and Comments

I do wonder if it was in anyones interest to throw a challenge flag on that play. In some ways, it may have made sense for OShea to do so, to give up the point but gain the field position. He ended up with that outcome anyways without it costing him a challenge attempt. After the replays of that pl...

Re: Lions 26 - Bombers 9 -- Post Game Stats and Comments

The other odd aspect of this play is that you can see in the tape, there's an official (#74) not far from the KR around when his foot comes down OOB, and there's another official at the back of the endzone. I'm not trying to get into criticising officials with this, but is it part of 74's assignmen...

Re: Lions 26 - Bombers 9 -- Post Game Stats and Comments

Our offence drives me crazy too. In fact I have no idea why so many CFL offences are so stuck in the spread offence ...and I was very surprised this year when Khari Jones re-introduced full spread empty backfield that even Chap had abandoned. Without going into a whole Chap thing...the best thing I...

Re: CFL 2014 Ratings/Standings at 2014 09 14

With Durant done, unless Saskatchewan can bring someone in to address their QB hole I think they're done. For us, this is bad news as it likely means we slide into the top 3 in the West and would have to go through Edmonton and Calgary to get to the Grey Cup. Tough to think otherwise given their fi...

New left tackle once again in Jermarcus Hardrick. Dean Valli back to right guard. Cameron Thorn to left guard. That is three switches since last game. Yikes. We've been here before, but the schmozzle seems worse this time around. Can we keep Kevin Glenn healthy? Can we generate a ground game, with ...
