Re: Lions at Ottawa July 4 - Game Day Thread
Wouldn't be a kick off return for a TD in the CFL without a penalty to call it off. Brutal.

That should be a safety! Watch them now place it on the 3 yard line. CFL Command!

Re: Lions at Ottawa July 4 - Game Day Thread
Clock management in the last two minutes was absolutely atrocious. They could have taken at least twenty seconds off the clock but got the play off early. With 40 seconds left, why punt it when the play clock is at 12 seconds? I knew as soon as they did that they would be giving up three befor the e...

Re: Season Ticket Holder Huddle
Agreed. The venue played a big role in not wanting to go. Last year I took my wife and son and we had a blast running around on the field and throwing the ball around. I enjoyed meeting Braley, Buono, Mark Washington and a few of the players. It was good fun and would have loved to do it again. Howe...

Re: Season Ticket Holder Huddle
Only 200 people seems a bit disappointing, as there seemed to be a couple of thousand people at last year's event. I know that I had signed up to go but the weather coupled with a late night on Saturday led me to forgoing the event. It could be a function of the bye week but I'm feeling less interes...

Re: women world cup effect lions ticket salea
Don't see it having any effect. The World Cup is a one time event. It's no different than when your favourite band plays a concert every couple of years in town. It doesn't impact your ability to afford Lions games.

Re: Paul McCallum released
Funniest part for me was that because of the stress and intensity of the game, I had not realized that Paul's miss resulted in a single point. So I didn't even realize that if Duncan had missed, the Lions would have likely lost the game. So I was considerably less stressed about the Duncan kick in ...

Re: Paul McCallum released
For those of you who think that the missed 17 yard FG helped the Lions, IMO it almost cost the Lions the WDF. Think about the way Wally approached that OT drive afterwards, running the ball to count on a 38 yard FG for the win. Had McCallum hit the FG, the Lions go for the TD and they way they were...

Re: Paul McCallum released
I just don't see how this situation could have been handled with more "polish". Here's how I see the scenario unfolded: Paul comes to camp. Tedford quickly decides PM is not going to be his kicker. Rather than let the situation drag out, Wally approaches Paul and basically gives him a chan...

Re: Paul McCallum has left camp - asked to retire
Somewhat mixed feelings here. Proud of Paul and outside of Lui, was the best kicker we ever had. I wish him well in whatever he decides to do. With that being said, I felt he was at least two years overdue from retiring. The team rarely went for field goals beyond 40 with Paul at the helm the last f...

Re: Ullrich on Year One Post MB
This article kind of sums up for me why MB had to go. Overly emotional, unsure of himself, and in over his head. Referring to his own firing as "taking out the trash"? Who refers to themselves that way? Maybe it was said in a self-deprecating way but that doesn't strike me as somet...

This response is just purrfect. It also confirms beyond a shadow of a doubt: Khalif Mitchell is an idiot.

Btw, this thing is only just beginning to blow up: http://deadspin.com/cfl-team-investigat ... 1704491491. I doubt Khalif makes it to training camp.

Re: Khalif is still at it . . .
I was very critical of Khalif both for his earlier incident around the Chinese community, to his throat slashing gestures which he tried to BS as giving the sign of a cross. Some disagreed about how sincere Mitchell was and felt he deserved another chance. While I did not share this opinion, I did f...
