Re: Lions cuts

According to 1040, NAT RB Shaquille Murray-Lawrence has just been cut by the Lions. (They are going to discuss it in the afternoon show). Can't say I am too surprised. He's not Italian (rim shot!). :tease: Seriously though, I think they were just waiting for him to recover from a concussion to part...

Re: Injury Updates for 6/28/17

Not sure about Buono's comment that it was "miscommunication" that resulted in the Zlystra's long completion. Edmonton coaches were saying in the post game that it's the coverage Gaitor didn't get back into his deep zone. Thompson and other were pointing their fingers at him after the play. Purifoy...

Re: Injury Updates for 6/28/17

Here you go, B.C.FAN: * No definitive word on the O-line, but I am assuming it's status quo. Wally shielded the unit from criticism to some extent (said Foucault was the only one who didn't give up a sack). * Purifoy didn't do anything to "get you excited," which is I believe how Wally phrased it. ...

Re: Injury Updates for 6/28/17

Thanks, David. Any word on other roster moves on the O-line and in the secondary?

Re: Lions cuts

Saskatchewan has signed former B.C. linebacker Cam Ontko to the practice roster. He was beaten out here by Tony Burnett and Micah Awe. I wish him well.

Re: Leos/Eskimos Post Game Thoughts

Blitz you are so right the Lions missed Olifoye and they could be in a heap of trouble if his absence is noticed that much each week. His salary was essentially given to Chris Williams giving the Lions 3 high priced receivers. Obviously we have to wait for his debut to see what the impact will be b...

Re: Leos/Eskimos Post Game Thoughts

Save for the first return of the game coverage was actually very good. Travis Lulay and Ty Long also deserve kudos for their work in coverage on back-to-back plays in the fourth quarter. Lulay made an open-field tackle to prevent Long's partly blocked convert attempt from being returned to the end ...

Re: CFL Games of Week 1

I'm happy for Ray and the Argo faithful. I expected the Argos to be strong this year under Trestman and the Ticats to slide to the bottom of the division. So far, so good. Wally and Mark Washington will have to make adjustments to prevent the big play from the Argo offence and force Ray to check dow...

Re: Eskimos vs. Lions June 24, 2017

A lot of low snaps. JJ was for ever looking down and then had to find his recievers. I think Cody has some splaining to do. BB Yes, and that could account for some of the timing problems between Jennings and the receivers. The half second it takes to bend down and scoop up the low snap is time that...

Re: Eskimos vs. Lions June 24, 2017

The official attendance at cfl.ca was 19,175. There were a lot of no-shows, as there always are in summer. I thought there were about 14,000 people in the building.

Re: 2017 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

An absolutely horrific job on video screen replays last night — especially on challenge plays. They need to think more about the fan experience rather than is it assisting the visiting team's coaching staff. The long pass play to Williams that initially was ruled incomplete wasn't shown until well ...

Re: Eskimos vs. Lions June 24, 2017

As for the Oline, would folks say one side had a harder go? Johnson and Fabien or Foucault and Steward? Husband had some low snaps that didn't help matters either. The left side of the O-line is much stronger than the right side, as it was last year. Hunter Steward and Cody Husband are the keys to ...

Re: Eskimos vs. Lions June 24, 2017

Definitely some growing pains in this one. Poor kicking really cost us. Was this Thompson's first start? I'm sure he showed better in practice than tonight. Lots of variety in offensive play calling. We took what they gave us for the most part. Were defensive breakdowns due to coaching or tentative...

Well I think the secondary will be revisited this week
Let's hope so. Parker and Clarke are much more aggressive in coverage than Thompson and Purifoy.

So what do folks think of the experiment with Purifoy and Fenner?
Clarke is a better safety.
