Hatcher’s contract has been described as a “backloaded cap-friendly” deal. If he returns this year, it won’t cost the team much.

Re: Lions cuts
Lots of changes in the secondary with Lee out, Mauger and Sayles cut, Edwards-Cooper gone. I thought they were pretty strong last year so it is surprising to see so much turnover. I have lots of confidence in Phillips to make these decisions, but it might take some time for things to settle and gel...

Re: Lions cuts
Still a bit of a log jam in some position groups. After taking the existing roster and parsing out Catchings & Chen who were cut a few days ago, those released and those added to the PR I come up with 50 names left on the active roster. There still is an overabundance of OL listed with 9 and DL...

Re: Lions cuts
Sayles is a surprise. He missed part of training camp, which gave American rookie Ronald Kent and Canadian draft pick Christophe Beaulieu quality reps at halfback. Both survived the cuts. With national DBs Adrian Greene, Patrice Rene and Beaulieu on the roster, Bagayogo didn't show enough developmen...

Lions cuts
The Lions have released 12 players, including veteran DB Marcus Sayles and second-year DB Siriman Bagayogo, and have added 10 others to the practice roster. June 2, 2024 Signed to practice roster agreements: American wide receiver Stanley Berryhill American defensive lineman Juliano Falaniko Nationa...

Re: Training camp 2024
Who are the Lions final cuts ? Tried searching the Lions website and CFL.ca Seems to be a big secret. The Lions are usually the last team to announce their cuts, and the information is always limited. They don’t finalize their roster until the eve of their first regular season game, when they decla...

Ronald Kent was issued that number at the start of camp. At the time, with 100 players on the roster, there were a lot of numbers duplicated on offence and defence. If Kent survives final cuts, he’ll probably be issued a new number.

Re: Edmonton Elks at BC Lions - May 31, 2024 - Pregame Day Thread
I tried to watch the line play from the end zone, a perspective I didn’t have from the Hillside Stadium bleachers at training camp. On offence, Tyler Packer has moved up the depth chart at centre and took some reps with the first team. The line seem to play better with him in the middle but Andrew P...

Re: Training camp 2024
It took a few years to come to this decision but Rick Campbell said today that the Lions decided to get bigger this year on the offensive and defensive lines and at running back. They have the bigger bodies to do it. The rotations on the defensive line will be interesting. Moore took first-team rep...

Re: Training camp 2024
Yes, and Beaulieu and Ringland give the Lions 5 potential quality national DBs. I expect Beaulieu to land a roster spot.CrazyCanuck89 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 1:17 pmYou guys had games last year with Greene, Bagayogo and Rene backing up in the secondary. Probably one of the only teams to use more DBs, than LBs for special teams.

Re: Edmonton Elks at BC Lions - May 31, 2024 - Pregame Day Thread
I think we’ll see Vernon Adams and the Lions’ starters play at least the first quarter, and possibly most of the first half. Edmonton is resting many starters, so the Lions should be able to jump out to a lead. New Lions to watch include running back Will Stanback and receiver Travis Fulgham on offe...

Re: Training camp 2024
The Lions' starting lineup for Friday's final preseason game is the same as the first-team offence and defence that they've deployed at training camp. Projected new starters on offence this year are former Montreal RB Will Stanback, second-year Lions receivers Ayden Eberhardt and Justin McInnis and ...

Re: Training camp 2024
Can't thank you enough for your stellar reporting, B.C.FAN. I must say that without it, and Hambone's contributions too, that I would be somewhat lost as to who's doing what. I looked forward to your in-depth summaries each day. They brought me much closer to my favourite team. Well done. :good: DH...

Re: All things Media/Marketing 2024
It's good to get airtime on the market leading station, but the 30-minute postgame show is a major disappointment. Last year, by the time I got out of the underground parking lot next to B.C. Place and got radio reception, Moj and Giulio were signing off their postgame show. There's then no football...
