Re: 2012 Uniforms
Nice I think the primary logo should be the seventies roaring Lion's head. (The logo found on advertising, the CFL web site home page etc.) The existing primary logo permanently retired. The paw logo used on the shoulders, too, of all three jerseys moving forward in 2012. (Shoulders and paw logos w...

Re: 2012 Uniforms
Cool thread here. Great to hear about a league wide uniform redesign for 2012 via RBK! Here's my preference for the Lion's primary and third uniforms in 2012 and beyond. 1) The logo: Seventies Lion's head logo. (Small BC letters inside the Lion's head outline keeps the logo forward facing on both si...

Re: Tired of excuses
I think Wally should announce that this is officially his last year as HC of the Lions. Means the team goes out there and tries to win one for the Ol' Gipper! Here's the hierarchy I'd like to see next season in BC: Wally Buono: GM Dave Dickenson: Head Coach Jarious Jackson: Offensive Coordinator Ric...

Re: Travis Lulay talk and opinions
Time is on Travis Lulay's side! (At least it should be.) This is a building block season for the next season. Playing a full season, now, says that Lulay will be a better QB for tommorrow. I think it might be wise to get JJ in there to give Lulay a chance to study what a defence is doing in a game. ...

Re: Eric Tillman & the role of a GM...
Hey all, Until yesterday, visiting Riderfans was a lot of fun as the humourless prairie folk were preparing to brandish pitch forks and mired in discussions about which was the proper order of effigies to burn. With a win over Montreal calm has settled upon the province, and having awarded themselv...

Re: Coaching change during the season does work
DD would probably be a great HC for a young QB like Travis Lulay. (Total credibility as a former Grey Cup winning QB and a younger guy that can connect better with a hard working and determined QB like Travis Lulay is.) I bet DD would also have a good idea as to what characteristics a new OC should ...

Re: Early airdrop? UFL folding
Money is ruining big league sports. Period! The NHL raises it's salary cap by $5,000 000? 10 of the 30 teams are well below the old salary cap! NBA? NFL? MLB? All leagues that have CBA issues every time out. Ticket prices are ridiculous in Canadian NHL markets too. The "have not" southern ...

Re: How To Fix This Mess?
While Phillips has looked weak on occassion tackling, he's still a very good cover man...and is experienced. Anybody else we plug in there is going to be worse, until he can gain experience and gel with the backfield. It'd be better to break-in a new halfback in training camp next year. To help our...

Re: Coaching change during the season does work
It worked in 2000 when Buratto took over from Mohns. Lions were 5-9 and went on to win the Grey Cup.First time a team in CFL history won the Grey Cup with a record under .500. I see alot of people dismissing the idea of coaching change right now because they never work. With the Grey Cup on the Lio...

Re: Buono defends convert decision vs Stamps - Lowell Ullric
Oh and another thing. Team 1040 were bashing the stadium location and the line ups for beer and the $30 parking price for seeing 7,000 fewer fans at this home opener as compared to last season. (not to mention questions about the OC and the level of play by the team in recent years.) That's a lark....

Re: Empire Field Fan Experience Version 2.0
Reasons for walk up crowd declines: (Beyond season ticket holders.) 1)The Whitecaps began MLS in March. Cheaper tickets/parking prices for fewer player salaries in the same stadium as compared to no other tenants playing sports at Empire Field last season. 2)The Canucks' run to the Cup. It went all ...

Re: Buono defends convert decision vs Stamps - Lowell Ullric
I think Wally's best argument is that the defence was not playing well in the second half. The Lions were chasing the Stamps score wise for the entire half. 6-7 at the half becomes 6-14. 13-14 becomes 13-21. 20-21 becomes 20-28. 26-28 sees Wally say we've got to tie them now and see if we can trade ...

Re: Empire Field Fan Experience Version 2.0
I Maybe the hockey riot had a lot to do with how much money fans spent on the Cup run. (Especially during the Finals.) Dominic In Vancouver :beauty: I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. I'm not suggesting it was the only reason for the riot. But that deciding game was over long before the f...

Re: Empire Field Fan Experience Version 2.0
I think every football fan should get to Empire one more time before it's too late. I was at the Calgary game and found the view from section 211, row K, seat 17 to be excellent. Very close to the players and coaches too. Very good atmosphere during the game with fans close to the field. I agree, th...

Re: BC Lions or Vancouver Lions?
I'd leave the name BC Lions until a team is in Victoria. (Likely never going to happen.) One thing the province has been stuck with is so many games on week nights instead of Saturday night. That is until this season! Saturday nights are a plenty on this years' schedule allowing more fans to get to ...
