Re: Trading Up?
Might also be a year to roll the dice on an NI with NFL aspirations. Given we are pretty strong in NI talent maybe we can take a chance that other teams can't afford to? Might get a real bargain that others have passed on.

Re: Als exceed cap by so much will lose draft choice & be fined
It appears that there is no pattern in revealing who is at, or over the SMS, could there be more over? I would think that prior to the draft this info would be released by the league? Will be nice to see what number we end up with. Anyone know when the draft order will be finalized?

Re: Riders over the cap
I don't really agree the fine is sufficint detriment. I guess I still feel that there are folks out there willing to gamble on a small fine, particularly if they have deep pockets and want a win bad enough. Lets face it ,although this is a business it isn't one that produces a large return, hence th...

Re: Riders over the cap
I don't think there is any fear mongering happening here, in fact I think the opposite is true. The consensus seems to be that as it stands, there is nothing to fear because the consequences are so minimal . Arguably it might be worthwhile to ignore it, if you want to win bad enough. Really, if all ...

Re: Riders over the cap
So long as the punitive damages for exceeding the cap are relegated to a dollars and cents anti, and not the crippling of the building or maintaining a competitive franchise, teams will always find a way to continue to abuse the SMS, and it will remain a joke. :thdn: Bang on. It isn't a Salary Cap,...

Re: LaVar Glover re-ups with the Leos
I think he has a very good handle on things and is not afraid to dump a player if the price is too high. On another note though, if you can be over the cap and still win the Grey Cup, in a few years is anyone going to care about it? I am really waiting to see if the league takes any meaninful actio...

Re: Mike Beamish Interviews Wally Buono re New Contract
Health wise he looks good , seems to still have the passion for the game and certainly no one can deny his success. If nothing changes I would be happy for him to hang on until he's 80. He might have other plans though!

Re: Lions Suck Comic
Well I guess any acknowledgement the Lions exist in the press is something? Would have been nice to see another teams name of the fridge sticker though. Wonder where the cartoonist was originally from? Hmmmmmmmm

Excellent news! It's great to see the level of stability the organization is shooting for. Wally has been great so far and will no doubt continue to be a huge asset to the org.

Maybe the German survey crews flew in to watch one of their new ferries enter port, or maybe they were the first passengers on it!

Re: Cohon and Braley
I agree adding a viable ninth team should be the priority. I also think given the time it takes to go from concept to fielding a new team , it is not too early to make a decision on if there is going to be a tenth team and if so who is in the running for it (narrow the field). Even if a group comes ...

Re: Could Halifax Support a CFL Franchise?
I'm not sure how much emphasis can be put just on population base. Given that Regina has generally had no problem with fan support, while Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal have at various times had their struggles, I would suggest it is a minor part of the equation. Obviously you need a minimum fan ba...
