Re: New Head Coach -- Jeff Garcia? John Hufnagel? No.
Watched a Hufnagel interview yesterday and he clearly outlines how he's used Buono as a mentor and template for building a solid organization. And the kinds of things I'm guess he means are the kinds of things Buono obviously wants to 'tighten up' via the next head coach and his own work (Buono's). ...

Re: Fare-gates and Compass Card.....
The other side of the question is how mny 99B line buses did it take to reduce the line to nothing. My point is that the frequency of the busses along the corridor makes it easy to move the crowds along. Another way to solve the Canada Line congestion would be to have some of the buses that do the ...

Re: New Head Coach -- Jeff Garcia throws his hat in the ring
LU made a good point in todays column (I think it was todays :dizzy: ). Paul LaPolice has 16 wins as a head coach, Benevides had 33. Still its a chicken/egg scenario. Hows he supposed to get the wins until given a chance? And I'll admit, at the time it seemed the Bombers pulled the trigger on his ti...

Re: Fare-gates and Compass Card.....
Caught the Canada Line heading downtown tonight around fivish.... I realize its only one part of the day and its not usually this bad but the line-up to board the 99B-line heading EAST was about thirty people deep (thats line-ups for EACH door!). One line actually extended back into the Station so d...

Re: Post Mortem on the Season, Als 50 - Leos 17
The golden era of our Leos organization is behind us. Wally Buono has always recieved, by far, the most credit for our Leos becoming a consistent winner for a number of seasons. However, the real architect was Bobby Ackles. He went outside the organization to hire a GM and Head Coach in Buono and s...

Re: Who to cheer for/against?
I referenced in a post above that Ham is returning to the Grey Cup after losing last year so I had a look at some stats pertaining to this dynamic. ............ Thanks for doing all that work sj-roc. Interesting to say the least..... Sure would be a bummer to go to the big game TWICE and lose but t...

Re: Lions and League Free Agents?
Interesting, on the BC Lions roster (BC Lions website) the names #31 Marsh, #51 Matechuk, #2 Glenn, and #96 Mitchell do not appear. Yet, other free agents not signed, Arakgi, LaRose and E. Jackson do appear. Any explanations? Good eyes...glad you spotted it. Feel sorry for Matechuk. Long snapper is...

I'm not going to be unhappy regardless of which team wins.
Okay, slight edge to Calgary JUST because they are the WEST champs....

Re: RIP Pat Quinn (1943 - 2014)
RIP Pat Quinn...... Quinn was leading the Canucks during the last period of time that I never missed Canuck games. IOW, the way I am now (and was then too) about the Lions, is also how I USED to follow the Canucks. If there was something I just couldn't get out of rescheduling around when the Canuck...

Re: Official NFL Thread: 2014-2015 Season
As for the Lynch and his reluctance to do media, I wonder if someone could get a 'medical' exemption? If a person could prove (via a legitimate assessment) that they could not do inteviews and/or doing said interviews was causing them undue stress/anxiety, perhaps exemptions could be granted....? I'...

Re: Official NFL Thread: 2014-2015 Season
This is going to be an interesting TURKEY day for our American cousins who also enjoy NFL football. I have to work much of the day so I'll probably be missing this years awarding of the "galloping gobbler". IIRC, the Cowboys are hosting the Eagles in a NFC division battle where t...

Re: Fare-gates and Compass Card.....
I have an Octopus card here in Hong Kong that has my personal age details in it so that I get the right fare on the bus or subway. You can use it in most stores and can top it via your bank but I don't do that. Tourists can get one of these at the airport and then cash it in when they leave HK. I k...

Re: Fare-gates and Compass Card.....
Why not. Tourists in destinations all over the world do just that. In fact, you can market special options to tourists such as pre-sales before you arrive in country and things like that. Traveling with cash is generally not a good option for tourists for obvious reasons. It may not be quite so ger...

Re: CFL Playoff Games -- November 23, 2014
Busy day working so I misse BOTH the East and West Final for the first time in DECADES.... :sigh: The tradeoff, is I won't have to work for the Grey Cup. It was a pretty easy choice really...... Watching the replays it sure seems like the East game was the more watchable, in the sense of the games r...

Re: Moving the league schedule up a month? No way!
In throes of March CFL (and to a lesser extent NFL  ) football withdrawal, I'd be all for moving up the league schedule a month but that would just mean it ending sooner :dizzy: I persoanally enjoy all the games. The warm summer nights in late June/early July.... The still sunny but cooler Sep...
