Re: Throwback Thursday

In light of the recent conversation about the 1990 season on this thread http://www.lionbackers.com/bc_lions/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17772, here is some simple information on a QB Lion who never played a single game and retired just after he Lions got his rights. In other threads, I've stated that the M...

Re: List of Good and Bad BC Lions who RETURNED

why paopao on bad list? Well as I explained in my first posting, I created this list to compare a Lions second and further stints with the team with his first stint. And those who are in the bad list either didn't perform better or performed worst in his subsequent stints and as such, that applies ...

Re: 2000 Team bonding leads to Grey Cup Win

According to the author's personal opinion, the top 10 Greatest Grey Cup games. Two of them involve the Lions, and both of them are Lions wins with the 2000 Grey Cup as #10 and the 1994 Grey Cup as #7. I would say that even most Lions fans w...

Re: List of Good and Bad BC Lions who RETURNED

In light of Ricky Foley returning to the BC Lions organization, reviving this thread to track how he will do as a returning Lion. To summarize, how does a returning Lion compare to his first stint as a Lion? Here's the general consensus for these former Lions: GOOD RETURNING BC LIONS Bob Ackles Sean...

Re: 2016 World Series

I remember watching game 6 of the 2003 NLCS when the Cubs were 5 outs away from advancing to the World Series when a fan named Steve Bartman allegedly interfered with a possible foul catch fly out. He has just been given an official (not replica) 2016 World Series ring by the Cubs organization. I gu...

Re: 2017 BC Provincial Election Thread

Former Liberal leader Gordon Wilson is back in the spotlight after being fired by the B.C. NDP a lucrative job in the liquefied natural gas industry. Who remembers in 1991, Gordon Wilson and the Liberals became the official opposition, but then resigned after an affair with Judi Tyabji and then cros...

Re: Damon Allen To Retire

Great post Robbie. I just wanted to make one observation. The reason that we don't think of Allen as a great scrambler like Flutie, is because Allen wasn't so much a scrambler as he was a runner and that is why he ranks up there with the RBs. Yes, that's a good point in that scrambling is different...

Re: Tour Canadian Football HoF via Virtual Museum of Canada

Self-admittedly as I stated above that I am obsessed with this trophy, I found another close up. piffles.png With the close cup I can finally see the actual inscription on the centre pillar of that trophy: N.J. 'PIFFLES' Taylor MEMORIAL TROPHY Maybe I'll have a talk with Curator Meghan Sturgeon Arch...

Revisiting this topic given the fact that BC Lions site have updated their BC Lions All-Time Individual Records to 2016 http://d3ham790trbkqy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2015/12/Individual-Records.pdf It looks when it comes to those rare occasions in which great positive statistics doe...

Re: BC's Great running attack and a Willie Flashback

Interesting topic. While there are always some topics about great quarterback-receiver tandems in the past, there are far fewer if any conversation about great running back/fullback tandems in the past. Sean Millington and Robert Drummond :whs: It's always good to hear somebody remember this great t...

Re: 2017 BC Provincial Election Thread

So the NDP led by premier John Horgan is back in power after a 16-year hiatus, with help of their allies the Green Party. Their previous reign from 1991-2001 was just under 10 years and notwithstanding the two short-term NDP premiers Dan Miller and Ujjal Dosanjh, the elected premiers Mike Harcourt a...

As mentioned in the other thread, England-based HMV left the Canadian market.

American-based Express clothing stores felt that Canada is not a good market and will be closing all their stores as well.
