Re: Shaw CFL Awards nominees

With the announcement of the recipients of the Jake Gaudaur Veterans’ Award, Tom Pate Memorial Award, and Commissioner’s Award given to non-Lions, then the Lions have been completely shut out all the individual awards this season. With Andrew Harris winning the Most Outstanding Canadian award, then ...

Re: Tour Canadian Football HoF via Virtual Museum of Canada

If you've ever wondered what the inscription is on the cup of the Grey Cup, then are two closeups. It shows: PRESENTED BY His Excellency Earl Grey FOR THE AMATEUR RUGBY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP OF CANADA While the trophy has changed a few times, specifically by adding a larger bowl most recently in 198...

Re: Norm Fieldgate

It must be a real honour to have a trophy named you - even if that person has not passed away yet so that the trophy would be named as a memorial. And in this case, shortly after Norm Fieldgate retired in 1967, the league created a trophy in his name starting in 1974. The Norm Fieldgate Trophy is a ...

Friendly wager between the mayors: 1. The losing mayor will contribute $5 for every point scored by the winning team to a food bank in the winning mayor’s city. 2. Losing mayor will also send the winning mayor a selection of local craft beer. 3. The losing mayor must wear the winning team’s jersey a...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

On the one hand, Maas has been criticized big time for making a field goal instead going for a touchdown in the late stages of the WDF. And on the other end of spectrum, Pete Carroll can be criticized as well by attempting a play fake at the late stages of the second quarter instead of taking 3 poin...

Re: Playoff Thread - Conference Finals

Stampeders coach Dave Dickenson lifted the west division championship trophy, but when offered to his players they all declined it. Let's see in seven days if that's a good omen since the Argonauts players did lift their trophy. Bo wanted nothing to do with that trophy. LOL But Bo Levi Mitchell, Re...

Richard Sherman is out for the season, and now Kam Chancellor will likely be out too from a neck injury.
The the Seahawks defence depleted now, then no way the team can advance too far in the playoffs assuming they make it to the playoffs. :bang:

Re: Playoff Thread - Edmonton vs. Winnipeg, Ottawa vs. Saskatchewan

I have no problem with the Saskatchewan Roughriders being the first team to win a division final as a crossover team and making it an all west final and stealing this trophy which was only for east division teams. http://l7.alamy.com/zooms/458df8b6c6c844389b323245573c72c7/nov-21-2010-montreal-quebec...

Re: Eskimos: change your name

The answer is simple. Just change it to Edmonton Inuit. They named themselves after the group, so they can still do that, but now go with what is acceptable now Inuit than Eskimo. I doubt they do that, but that is my suggestion. But this will ruin the alliteration and will requite a brand new logo ...
