This whole situation is unfortunate for the victim and her family, Eric and his family and the Riders and their fans.
Don't forget that the victim and her family has forgiven Eric and do not want him to lose his job over this, which makes me think that this is more than just black or white, methinks.

Re: So we will win in 2012?
Even better for those that aren't as easily swayed about 2012..... for those that don't want to spend the entire 9+ minutes on youtube, go to the 6:40 mark or so, and it will give you an answer about planet alignment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W14NPZ3IXFY&feature=response_watch How about t...

Re: Canadian Writers Take on the Grey Cup :(
4 - Point Taken. CFL fans will tell you that the greatest Grey Cup game ever played was the 1989 tilt between Hamilton and Saskatchewan. Dave Ridgeway kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired to give his team a 43-40 win. But here's what CFL supporters tend to forget: If Ridgeway misses tha...

Re: CFL Expansion Goals For Eternity!
We have debated the Saskatoon option ad nauseum on rf.com.
The general consensus is that Saskatoon could not support a team with the Riders still in existence.

Yeah, the SMS system we have right now is more of a luxury tax the way it's set up.

Re: Congrats Als
Well, at least we have a cap now as opposed to the 70's and 80's when Edmonton and Toronto were buying championship after championship... They was a Cap of $2.5M system in place then, it was skirted around just like today's SMS is being, with the invented 9 game IL abuse. Now most teams are in viol...

Re: Congrats Als
There is absolutely nothing tainted about the Als win. No one is questioning that the penalty was the right call. I've not seen any Rider fan question it. Als won fair and square. As for 2007, the asterisk is for the salary cap violation that the Riders committed in order to field the team that won...

Re: CFL Expansion Goals For Eternity!
Green Bay has a team in the NFL! The same kind of passion is what you need for the above mentioned smaller markets to have a team in the CFL. Also it's crucial to keep the league 100% Canadian teams only. (More teams would offset the likely decrease in Canadian player quotas per team. ) Also with N...

Re: Congrats Als
Your right David. This will be a tainted Championship and I dont even like the Riders. BB I disagree. It was a bizarre, heart-wrenching loss, but a loss all the same. No Rider fans that I know will be putting an asterisk beside the 2009 Grey Cup Final Score. I think it's cheesy for Blue Bomber fans...

Re: Riders Final Possession
I too thought that the Riders should have gone for the TD before the half. I was also surprised with Trestmen when the Als had 3rd and a foot and he punted instead of going for it. I guess if I coached I would be much more aggressive . But if you get stuffed by the Als going into the half, you not ...

Re: Already sick of Rider Pride
I guess it is natural to look for a scapegoat but for the most part the Refs kept the flags in their pocket and there were calls going both ways that weren't made. Trying to blame the Refs for that loss is just sad. I'm pretty sure that had it been any other penalty, holding, offside or what have y...
