Olympic hockey question

can anyone tell me why womens team usa got a bye for the quarter finals when Switz was first in their group and both Switz and Sweden scored more goals and had better goal differential?

I cannot see any basis for USA getting the bye.

As expected, a handful Eagles players will decline an invitation to the White House:

Re: Closing/Extinct Franchise Businesses in the Lower Mainland

While there's still several Dairy Queen and A&W franchise locations, its format has really changed from 30 years ago. Nowadays, the franchises are located in food courts and they are merged with another parent franchise such as Orange Julius. Dairy Queen used to be in the form of an ice-cream stand...

Re: Super Bowl LII Game Day Thread, February 4, 2018

Celtics fought back to win narrowly 97-96 over the Trail Blazers. A prelude for the Patriots? I am not so much anti Pats as I am an Eagle fan. So when it comes to neutral, non-home cities when it comes to liking a team from a particular city then do you like other teams from that city? Yes, you've ...

Glad that the Lions and Hunter agreed to terms. Hunter is a vital clog on the offensive line.
you mean the one that was soooo good last year?

I have no use for any internet communication other than message forums such as this one, and emails. One day I just said, enough, no more new stuff for me.

Re: Jerry Keeling Passes

Just remember, this was back in the day when the running game was more important. It was a vital part of the offence, not a tactic that was used every now and then to set up the pass. I always recall an old coach's comment (not sure who this is attributed to) "When you throw the ball down the field...

Re: Lions sign new QB

Looks like he's got some mobility, a necessity playing behind the Lions offensive line. Looked like a very decent runner in university with good size. BTW: He's featured in the univ Top 10 including no. 1 which looks like a typical CFL pro type play; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDj0VcMjgP4 He w...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

Super Bowl LII will be a re-match of Super Bowl XXXIX in which the Patriots narrowly won the game. Who do you think will win? The Eagles fought back from an initial 0-7 deficit to score 38 unanswered points to win 38-7, while the Patriots fought back for a narrow 24-20 win. But I know for sure that...

"Greatest Journeyman" is actually a backhanded compliment and imo a long career should not necessarily lead to the HOF, especially if at no time in Glenn's career was he the best QB in the CFL.
I always felt that way about Damon Allen
