Re: The rich get richer - Esks aquire Chick

Meh. Chick's best days are behind him. If he does find his old groove then the Esks really win this trade/salary dump. If he plays at 2017 pace, he doesn't see much playing time. I would think other teams were offered Chick and this the best trade in return, that says alot about how teams view his a...

Re: Calgary 21 - BC 17, Post-game Stats and Comments

I continue to be surprised at the frequency and intensity of criticism of Buono that has appeared on this forum--and even more surprised by the way some of it has focused on what appear to be character flaws. I think this latter focus is risky and unproductive. In my opinion, he gets roasted often ...

Re: Calgary 21 - BC 17, Post-game Stats and Comments

Despite the loss, the guys played hard and with intensity. You have to give them that. The defence especially dug deep to keep the Stamps out of the end zone in the 1st half. If the intensity wasn't there tonight, i would have been worried about this team's prospects this year. Hmm, I would say mor...

Re: Riders 41 - Lions 8, Post-Game Stats and Comments

I've heard tell of people hiccuping for extended periods of time. Let's face the reality here, the Lions have a very good trackvrecord of finding talent. However the Lions systems are stale, and when everyone isn't better than the player in front of them, execution has a way of staring them in the f...

Re: Riders 41 - Lions 8, Post-Game Stats and Comments

Calgary doesn't have an off game like this in a season that they're average let alone when they are a premiere team. At this point the Lions have lost the season series to two teams, without having played one and the other only at home. That tells you that the Lions are an average team at best. Don'...

Re: Leos/Riders Round 2

Riders were listless in BC, don't expect that kind of effort at home. Jones has to feel some of the pressure and a kiss going into their bye week will app that up internally and externally. Given the change in QB may be an advantage for the Lions. JJ should keep the offense fresh and will have motiv...

:dizzy:

I have the worst auto keyboard ever on my phone, but thanks for saving me on that David. :rotf:

Still once Area51 comes back, I'm sure there will be more readership right here due to his Foley's.

Re: Ricky Foley signs with Lions

The best factor of Foley's signing is he brings readership to the team. Is he an every down DL at this stage? I don't think so, but on situational downs I believe he can still be effective. Nothing ventured nothing gained. If he doesn't improve our DL then he won't see game time and given his ego, h...

Re: New Rule Change effective immediately

I don't blame the coaches at all. Their job is to win. If they obey the rules and gain a competitive advantage by using replay a certain way, power to them. It's the league's responsibility to make rules which are good for the game. Credit to the new commish for doing just that. I do think, however...

Re: How to Raid Practice Rosters?

A Lion PR player has a GVRD rent cost, so even a PR spot on the Riders at equal value puts more coin in his bank account.

The rule is in place to allow teams to have better depth, but in recent years the Lions seemingly lose players that Wally should be able to secure.

Re: Video Replay

I spent 4 hours prior to kickoff in a Horseshoe Bay ferry lineup and all but the final 9 minutes on the boat so still haven't seen even a highlight. After the DPI on Burnham BC challenged and lost Moj was thoroughly convinced the Command Centre was either high on pot or drunker than skunks on JD. A...

Re: Eskimos 37 - Lions 26, Post-Game Stats and Comments

Tell me that wasn't a lateral pass. Two challenges on PI calls by each club, both call center calls go the Esks way. You can't have those critical moment calls go against you and expect to win when you can't protect Lulay long enough for him to find the seam on the football, or allow Reilly enough t...

Re: CFL Games of Week 6, July 27 - July 29

Phillips was released by Montreal. I agree innit enough evidence to overturn the Harris TD. What I question though is the helmet to helmet RP call, that was a huge change of field position and a drive stopper. Not sure that it should be called when a QB goes low to take the impact and a defender can...

Re: West Showdown - Leos vs. Eskimos

Lulay's health is at risk on this move, surely Johnson would have worked on game film and made some adjustments by game six for the Esks. Hope this change works out, but it is against the CFL's best Dline, without an experienced back up to Lulay. Risky business IMO, and without Jennings for the next...

Re: West Showdown - Leos vs. Eskimos

According to LU, Manny is banged up but expected to play. As a precaution though, the club is activating Maurice Morgan who had a good camp. Other changes: 7 * Kelvin Palmer makes his debut ahead of Antonion Johnson at RT (hmmm...is this the game to experiment??) * Buddy Jackson starts in place of ...
