Re: Fire campbell

I don't quite get peoples' faith in/loyalty to Campbell here. * Team has come out flat on numerous occasions this season, even during the 5-1 stretch. * We are the worst 3rd quarter team (point differential) in the CFL. That means poor halftime adjustments. * How many missed challenges have we seen?...

Re: Fire campbell

My concern if we lose to Hamilton is this. We will have gone 2-7 since July featuring losses going into and out of two bye weeks. The 6 losses (thus far) during this stretch have featured all manner of blowouts and lackluster efforts. In other words, I thought "rock bottom" was in Winnipeg...

Re: Fire campbell

Sure, but who are you going to replace him with? To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a CFL football guru-slash-savior waiting in the wings with a ready-made staff. This is what we have for this year. My concern is the club's alarming lack of preparedness and wildly uneven motivation (Victoria a...

Re: Uniforms for Sept. 13 game

Yes the intro of the letters on the helmet started at the end of last year and has continued to be pushed forward.... not a fan of it. or that new font on the suddenly "alt" logo.. If someone is a fan of the monogram "BC" on the helmets, please step forward. No judgment. I'd lov...

Re: Argonauts at Lions, Sept. 13, 2024

Yea, my thoughts as well. Mackie is, frankly, too valuable to sit out. If it's nagging, he will have a couple of weeks to rest it (but it could well linger all season). The fact that he has been "limited" this week as opposed to "DNP," likely means that it's a load management sit...

Argonauts at Lions, Sept. 13, 2024

It will be interesting to see whether there will be any line-up changes from the unit that, in my opinion, thoroughly handled Montreal. At times, dominated. Ciante Evans, whom I feared may be out with an elbow injury, practiced all week this week and has been deemed "available." No word on...

Re: 2024 season Week 14

If the Riders want to pass the reigns to Shea they do so at their own peril. As a starter I think his ceiling is that of average journeyman. They went 2-3-1 with him as starter. Yea, and how have things worked out since then? :tease: Average journeyman...isn't that what people were saying about Cod...

Re: 2024 season Week 14

Yup looks like it will be a bidding war between Calgary and Sask. For Vernon Adams this off season. Realistically, I can see 5 clubs with varying degrees of interest in VA, ranging from "serious bidders" to "tire kickers." I have ranked them below: Cgy - Maier's ceiling establis...

Re: BC at Montreal Sept. 6, 2024

Wasn't that holding ? Covington thought so. He’s been a force on the D-line. I agree. What a marked improvement these past few weeks! I could be wrong, but it appears to me that Covington is now back to playing at his former 'playing weight.' He likely shed too many pounds in the off-season to adju...

I missed anything happening to Evans. I don't know how many reps Perkins missed but he returned to finish the game.
I missed the play too but appeared to be an elbow. Was on the sidelines with an ice pack around it.

Hopefully we can activate JEC for next week.

Re: BC at Montreal Sept. 6, 2024

* What a crazy season! A month ago, I would say VA was going to be our MOP nominee. I now think it's William Stanback. * I always believed in Jonah Tavai and now he's paying off for us, big time. * I'll admit, I was a little apprehensive about the entire left side of our Oline being revamped against...

Personally the smaller crowd took away from the game for me watching on tv other than it looked like fun to be in attendance.
Guess you don't watch too many Argo games then. :tease:

Re: BC at Montreal Sept. 6, 2024

Not a great sign when they're giving the start at guard to Kory Woodruff (age: 24. Experience: None) over their 2024 first round draft pick, George Una (age: 25. Experience. None), no?

Re: Uniforms for Sept. 13 game

Aargh! Please say it's a joke. Having illegible black on black (gunmetal) numbers is the worst uniform idea in Lions history. My thoughts and prayers are with the announcers, who have trouble getting numbers right at the best of times. I think the gun metals are a really good look - at least the 20...

Re: Leos Redblacks Touchdown Pacific Post Game Thoughts

It was a spectacular event in Victoria. It wasn't without its logistical challenges, but everyone seemed to come away beaming. Not the least of which was the players, who seemed to REALLY feed off the energy of the crowd and enjoy this one-off spotlight. It is evident in this video: https://x.com/BC...
