Re: Jovan could be on his way out of the Den

We get Foucault's rights? We don't make the trade conditional on a signed contract? Be nice if he walks. We are giving Olafioye away for less than peanuts. It is hard to see this as anything less than a desperate move. Olafioye has played at a Hall of Fame level up to this time. We give him away for...

Re: Jovan could be on his way out of the Den

Jovan is a known quality of the highest order in the CFL. In a trade the winner would be the team that gets him. It could not be spun any other way. Of course other CFL teams are interested. It would be a steal of a Hall of Fame tackle who plays right or left tackle at All Star level, and is seeming...

Re: 2017 CFL Draft - What Players Will Our Leos Choose

As noted by many, the risks these days are about drafting the best player available in rounds 1 or even 2, as quite a few of them will no doubt try their skills in the NFL. Some are obviously talented enough to get NFL interest. Dayum the NFL, the big pond. LOL It has a voracious appetite, searching...

Re: two questions

am I right in thinking that we probably have the best combination of Qb/RB/rec right now? how does our current group of o-line compare to the rest of the league. I will take a shot at this. In my opinion, KnowItAll. QB is about as good as it gets with Jonathon Jennings. Great, quick reads. Amazing ...

Re: Lions Running Attack 2017

And, WestCoastJoe, about the 'Second Coming of Fleming', potentially aka SCOF (I suppose)... I actually looked that acronym up online (too much time on my hands today!)-- and found 'Southern Culture on the Fly' -- (albeit about fly-fishing, still, that term seems an apropos alternate definition for...

Re: Lions Running Attack 2017

Good discussion, Blitz. JJ24 was exceptional last year. Be nice to have a high level of Int tailback to spell him for a few games. Rainey can flat out run inside. The Second Coming of Willie Fleming is also of course very dangerous receiving out of the backfield. I recall way back in the day, some f...

Re: 2016 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

* Muslim Ban 2.0 not going well. Blocked by federal judges from two states. * The Wall. Trump asks Congress for $1.5 B to start. Not asking Mexico to pay. LOL Umm, not going well. * Repeal ObamaCare. 20 million of the mostly poor to lose coverage. Many Republicans opposed for various reasons. Tax br...

Re: Jovan could be on his way out of the Den

An O Line obviously has many moving parts. National. International. Right side. Left side. Tackle. Guard. Centre. Philosophy. Many permutations and combinations, especially in the world of Dan Dorazio. Jovan has been a class act all the way with the Lions. I would not want to see him move on. I cann...

Re: Free Agent Market and Free Agent Camps

Vince Young NFL pass completion rate 58% CFL QBs in 2016 pass completion rate 68% Hey, Toppy. Good to hear from you. Vince Young in Regina? Dunno about that ... Jones has not looked like the world beater in his time with the Riders. He looked like the next coming of Don Matthews for a while ...

Re: Final wrap on free agency: Offence and Defence

Excellent breakdown, Blitz. Once again we saw Mark W talk about aggressive, attacking defence, but we did not see it to any degree. One still wonders if Mark W is giving Wally just what Wally wants. Soft zone. Play back, Guys. Take away the deep pass. LOL Get back, Biggie. Farther. Tough to change o...

Re: 2016 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

LOL Yup. All he has done since my last blog in this thread was to smear his predecessor, Barack Obama, accusing him of doing something illegal (and also pretty much impossible), wiretap Trump Tower during the election cycle. Apparently wiretapping in the USA requires a judge to make a determination,...

Re: 2016 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

24/7 Trump. In terms of attention, he sucks the air out of a room. LOL I think he is a fool. He had it made. Billionaire. Private business. All over the world. Babes. Toys. Fame. Fortune. But, he wanted prestige and power. His ego needs blinded him to all the scheis he would face every day as Presid...

Re: Popp and Trestman in Toronto ?

Would that it happens. Highly in favour of Trestman. Not so much with Popp, although he has had much success in the CFL. How much of that success was due to Don Matthews, Anthony Calvillo and Marc Trestman, rather than Jim Popp? Dunno ... Is that not unlike pondering that much of Bob Ackles' succes...
