Re: Eskimos vs. Lions June 24, 2017

Intrigue in the palace, Wally's royal court. When this fan was a little closer to the action, one recalls Benny and Jacques evaluating their chances at succession to the top job. JC clearly thought Benny had the inside track. Mark W might have been perceived as a threat at the top by Benny. Who kno...

Re: Lions cuts

They are noteworth B.C. Fan Looks like Purifoy will be our safety tomorrow night and Fenner will like up at nickel. Antonio Johnson will start at right tackle against Edmonton and Long will be our punter/kicker. We wont's see Williams for a while yet. One topic that has mostly slipped under the rada...

Re: CFL Games of Week 1

I was pulling for Montreal and relieved they won....although they deserved to lose.

Watching both Durrant and Glenn, two aging quarterbacks past their primes play in this game, made me look even more forward to watching Jonathan Jennings play on Saturday night.

Re: Lions vs. Roughriders June 16, 2017

Funny, I liked the sack dance. Quick, memorable and effective. But maybe because I am a big Roh fan. For a league that recently went on record as saying they want to reduce flags, especially those that don't have any effect on player safety, they could start there. More innocent than a Saturday mor...

Re: The 2017 Season - Your Predictions

Always good to read your posts Sammy. When I chose our Leos to finish first in the West, my heart and gut were going against my head. Calgary is a very good team and a very well coached team too, not only in terms of leadership but also in terms of strategy. I just took a shot that our Leos have so ...

Re: The 2017 Season - Your Predictions

Its an interesting development. Our Leos don't seem to be happy with Clarke at safety. We tried out Fenner at safety just prior to our exhibition game against the Riders. Purifoy does make sense at safety in that he is a devastating hitter/turnover defensive back. However, I thought Clarke looked go...

Re: Lions cuts

The league should just expand the rosters. Playing games with the injury list is something all teams do and the league knows it. Why not just expand both the 46 man roster or the practice roster or both.

Re: Lions ownership discussion thread

This past weekend I spoke with a few American tourists who recognized my Leo's togs and they started talking CFL. They were all "yeah, we watch CFL. We love it! It is so fast paced, exciting" etc. Maybe those young Canadians resistant to the charms of 3 down football need to listen to the American ...

Re: The 2017 Season - Your Predictions

Thanks for those intriguing forecasts fellows! Really enjoyed the reads. While I'm shy of predictions -- what with the typical CFL weather being just too changeable for me to get a read on -- kinda' like reading a 'cloud atlas' -- a moving target, so many intangibles at play... I do however know wh...

Re: Lions vs. Roughriders June 16, 2017

Rigarmortis needs to set in on Craig "Death' Roh's right hand sword thrust celebration. It looks dum anyway. As for Jones not signing Durrant, when I look at Durrant's play over the last 3 seasons, its nothing to write home about. In 2014, he missed 8 games due to injury, he only threw 8 touchdown p...
