Lions sign Keelan Johnson from the Redblacks. LB and DB. Good size and aggressive player
League-high 29 special teams tackles -- methinks Reinebold is saying 'thanks Ed'!

Re: Pending Lions free agents

Otha Foster will certainly help us out in the secondary! https://www.bclions.com/2018/02/14/lions-boost-secondary-addition-otha-foster/ I like this pickup a lot! Foster is very athletic and I think will be the starting nickel in the new season. Tough, tough guy. One of the very few players I can th...

Re: Pending Lions free agents

...and a further note on Foster -- further reading has reminded me that he also played strong-side linebacker (besides the secondary positions). So that's helpful in addressing (to some degree) the loss of Fenner, and if he's healthy and stays healthy, perhaps a very fine replacement indeed.

Re: Pending Lions free agents

Nice meaty appetizer article from LU as we head toward Tuesday and Free Agency... Lets see who might be sending each other Valentines the day after.

Re: Questions for Ambrosie?

Here's the link to LU's take on it (I'm not sure if anyone's already posted it -- excuse if so). Interesting point Hervey apparently brought (to Ambrosie's attention) suggesting an NFL-like pre-free agency negotiation period. I wasn't aware they had that, so don't know the machinations of it, but in...

Re: Odell Willis headed to B.C.

One of the intangibles at this point is exactly what effect the return of coach Randy Melvin will have on the entire defensive line. Among our roster returnees the rather sleepy giant (Mic'hael Brooks) might be prodded and fully awakened. That, along with the hopefully contagious enthusiasm of his n...

Re: Super Bowl LII Game Day Thread, February 4, 2018

The Bill & Tom show continues... They are not my cup of tea, but they admittedly are amazing, my hat's off to them for their success. When one is not a fan of their team however it becomes a bit maddening how they keep coming back from behind in games even when it seems unlikely. There they are agai...

Re: Odell Willis headed to B.C.

I'm thinking/hoping Gabe Knapton is already a significant improvement, even though he's not exactly a youngster anymore either. Both he and Willis are fully animated get-up-and-go types. That could be contagious. Here's hoping! But, yeah, more more more (to whatever extent we can afford salaries)! A...

Re: Odell Willis headed to B.C.

Pretty much my feelings/take on it in this LU piece, i.e. I knew he was a character -- a good time guy, and I welcomed that. I had mild concerns, but it's comforting to hear Ed's insights into the guy and how hard he works at playing well (and having fun while at it!) http://3downnation.com/2018/02/...

Re: Odell Willis headed to B.C.

Odell Willis. Talented. Productive. This CFL fan has had reservations about Willis in the past. Could be a good addition. Seemed to stick to the business in Edmonton, for the most part. I have to credit Hervey for what might be a good move. I hear ya WCJ -- I too have had occasion to wonder about M...

Re: Lions ownership discussion thread

It (the campaign) has often left me feeling both humble and proud to be in such good forward-thinking company, i.e. the Lion's organization and the multitude of hopefully enlightened fans out for some fun. Messaging/messages for basic human-kindness and social responsibility, whatever the specifics,...

Re: Pending Lions free agents

Now that Hunter Steward (yeah!) is officially signed https://www.bclions.com/2018/02/01/bc-l ... ward-2018/ this leaves three for the defense -- Fenner, Yell, and Purifoy, and on offense Lulay, on my personal wishlist. Things are coming together.
