Re: Lions @ Argos -- Game Blog -- Post Game Comments

And I think you need to check around to see where your sense of humour went. You're kinda making it up here. Posters went after Wally in any way they could, and that included picking on the fact that he is a religious man. You think that's okay, obviously. Likewise, it's fair game to have these guys...

Re: Lions @ Argos -- Game Blog -- Post Game Comments

I was going to say the special teams ball was presented to Chuck McMann, but not so much presented as inserted in. But won't say it or anything further as I've already been censured for using a word readily found in the Bible. Heck, a word Wally Buono would have come across many times in Bible study...

Re: How do the Lions get Fera on the roster?

To the poster suggesting McCallum would have been a good mentor, I think it is well known that the guy is no such thing. Whether or not he reinvents himself as one after his active career is over is another question, but I doubt Sean Whyte or any other kicker who's been on the same roster would sugg...

Re: How do the Lions get Fera on the roster?

A close call against the Argos, but I don't think you can blame the missed converts, blocked punt and blocked field goal entirely on Leone. After all, I think he made all his kick-offs.

Re: Lions @ Argos, Oct 30, Preview, Ricky Ray to Start

Hey, mixed-feelings guy, we need to clinch as soon as possible. Even if it renders that Calgary game meaningless (I think it would, no?), at least we'd be able to see the Lions one more time in the playoff game. I think it'd be good experience for Jennings to get to post season too. Too bad that the...

Re: HARRIS Resign or Not ..Wally

I'm goin' with the Harris to Winnipeg crowd here. I'm from Winnipeg originally and knew a bunch of ex-Winnipeggers out here. I wouldn't go back for love or money, but I'm alone in that. All these other people I've known swear by the place. Andrew Harris may be one of them. Add to that, that the Bomb...

Re: Lions @ Argos, Oct 30, Preview, Ricky Ray to Start

I think there has been some buzz about Jennings in the rest of the league. But 'buzz' in the real CFL sense, which is to say, a fairly mild buzz. Saw mention of him in some other cities' papers when the Lions were playing their team. I'm sure there was an article that concluded he was the best rooki...

Re: 2015 World Series

And... I'm off the bandwagon! Had tuned in for the first time since the Joe Carter days, memorized the Blue Jay players' names and positions, watched them at bat, etc. Now? Take your schtinkin' bez-ball and let's get back to knit-picking Wally Buono's work!

Re: UBC-Manitoba battle for home playoff game Saturday.

Will probably check it out. Have seen SFU and UBC games and liked what I saw. May even go. The Jim Mullin of that CFL ratio history article a couple years ago? Great article. Explained a few things I wondered about when I thought about the Blue Bombers of my youth. I'm pretty sure Kenny Ploen and Fr...

Re: Don`t Throw the Book at Tedford Yet

The book is still on stand-by. There is a little Bart Andrus in Tedford. Or maybe that jackass MTL hired a couple years ago to replace Marc Tressman. Some absolutely ridiculous player selection decisions to get to this point. I don't know why Hamilton was so poor last game, but the BC D-line looked ...

Re: Which Import lineman is sweating the most?

Thought I saw some good things out the line just the way it is last night. I noticed the centre pulling out to block around the end a couple times. That American seems safe enough. He is a marked improvement over Matt Norman. Thought Draheim struggled a little. Saw Fabien do some things, including p...

Re: Lions vs. Hamilton, Oct. 23, 2015 - Game Day Thread

Tobin Rote? Tobin Rote? Boy, that's a magical football name for me. I was a Blue Bomber fan growing up, but jeez, Tobin Rote was one of my favourite players of all time. What a great QB. Just looked him up on the internet. I knew he went from the CFL to the AFL and did well, but I didn't know about ...

Re: Which Import lineman is sweating the most?

You know one thing I struggle with concerning the Lions and the O-line is why aren't we coming up with some non-imports who not only fill the three inside positions, but excel in the manner some guys do on other teams. Or seem to. We've had quite a few Canadians go through those two guard positions ...

Which Import lineman is sweating the most?

Notice Hunter Steward's on the roster. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll play that much, but if he did, and if he played well, which import would be looking over his shoulder? Personally, the most disappointing lineman of the year is Oliafoye. That side of the line caved in quite a bit ...
