Re: Carter released from Riders
FarhanLaljiTSN https://twitter.com/DC_CHILLIN_8/status/1028476252301287424 I hear that the UN is hiring. I was thinking...Flight Attendant; Greyhound Bus Driver or join the Navy and see the World! I wondering how many minutes Duron's career would last in those chosen professions? Flight attendant: ...

Re: Lions ownership discussion thread
A couple of facts to consider. Braley won't sell the Lions until the season is over. Even if he has a agreement in place, it won't be announced until December. In a television interview a couple months back, Moray Keith intimated his group's offer was around $15M but he expected the final sale price...

Re: Chris Williams
Chris Williams is not a polished receiver, more of a track man, who needs to be wide open catching the ball on the dead run. If the catch is contested he's not very effective. Basically a one-dimensional player. Not sure he fits into the Lions offensive scheme. He's kind of expensive for a "dec...

Re: RedBlacks 30 - Lions 25, Post-Game Stats and Comments
The Lions have probably improved over last year but so have Sask, Wpg, Cal & Ham. If we hadn't lost Travis, he'd still be starting, probably in a 2-QB system...and we'd probably have won vs. Ham and a couple other games...and solidly in the playoff hunt. Any team which loses it's 1st and 2nd QB ...

Re: Is Wally Staying around in 2018?
I don't think coaches are the problem. It comes down to poor QB'ing. That's the difference between winning and losing close games. Only the RB's 49% passer Lynley has a lower QB rating than Jennings as a starter. The alarm bells should have rung loud in the first few games of the season when Jenning...

Re: Free Agents at the end of 2017
I wonder if Jennings NFL tryout window after this season has him following the NFL more closely, studying how R. Wilson plays rather than being immersed in the CFL like he has the previous two seasons? He seems confused in his decision-making, perhaps over-looking the CFL season in preparation of hi...

Re: B.C. at Calgary Sept. 16, 2017
The Lions should put a spy Singleton. Follow Singleton wherever he lines up and try to block him, hit him or at least get in his way on every play.

Re: QB, now what?
We shouldn't expect much from any QB that is unable to stick as even a third stringer on the worst teams in the CFL. Not much upside out there. If Jennings were to be injured for any significant length of time, our season would be over, which puts us in the same boat as most other teams in the leag...

Re: Jovan leaves the Den. Confirmation on Page 8.
I'm not understanding how Mtl could trade Foucault's "rights" to B.C. if he's not under contract? IMO, JohnHenry ... There are contracts between clubs and players. And there are agreements between the clubs themselves. It involves free agency as an issue, and it involves a club owning the...

Re: Jonathan Jennings Second Full Season as a Starter
Yes, the Lions offence should be a treat to watch this season, hopefully the OL will gel quickly and allow Jennings the time to find his receivers. I'm surprised Jon was the 2nd-leading QB rusher last season as he didn't seem to run that much? I guess most of the QB's now are pocket passers, not scr...

I see TSN1410 has been announced as the home of the Whitecaps. Not sure about the Lions but perhaps they'll have 1040 all to themselves...or at least squeezing in a few minutes of Lion's coverage between the NHL and NFL babble.

Re: Jovan could be on his way out of the Den
The Lions needed to make H. Steward the starter at LT. But they didn't want to pay Olifioyie $200k to play RT and needed to reneg or trade him away. The Lions also needed a National backup for Steward at LT, hence the Focault trade. Perhaps the Lions should have got more in return for the six-time A...

Re: Jonathan Jennings Second Full Season as a Starter
Jennings is under contract for the next two seasons, with a supposed NFL tryout window after this season. If he has another great season in 2017, I'm sure the Lions will tender a contract extension that would pay JJ like a premium starter (unless they have Cap issues  ). Some may question his ...

Re: Lions looking at tailgate parties this season?
The Argos tailgating last year was an unqualified success by all accounts. They apparently sold $4 TallBoys at the tailgate and adjacent "Shipyard" pregame parties (and seemed to salt the pregame crowds with groups of attractive young ladies ).
