Re: Benevides Fired
It looks like there will be no further moves until a new coach is in place: Been told the new coach will decide the fate of the rest of the coaching staff. No more firings. There is an issue of timing for the current assistant coaches who are on 1 year contracts ending in December if the HC decisio...

Re: Good-bye Dante
I think Marsh is at a career stage where he is "1 season more" and like many others, that is a dangerous place to be. Marsh might be missed, but he can be, and should be replaced. In fact, Ryan Phillips is at the same place in his career and I would not be bothered is either player did not...

Re: Fire Benny!!!!!!!
I would agree with Hambone and WCJ that if there are coaching changes, they will happen after Grey Cup week and before mid-December since I suspect that some of the position coaches are on year-to-year contracts that expire at the end of December. With Benavides and Jones on longer contracts (not ex...

Re: Lions @ Alouettes. Game Day Thread. Eastern Semi-Final
I think that if our coaches pay attention to the wisdom expressed on this forum, and create an offensive game plan that has more surprises for the Als than the "seen that" offense we have played over the season, BC is on its way to win! Our defence can, for the most part, take care of thei...

Re: Leos/Als Keys to the Game
[quote="Dusty"]....Knowing this, it comes down to where the OC and RC think the open spots will be as the defense drops into coverage or blitzes and if the receivers can get there in time. [quote] ... my point of course is that the OC and QB / Receivers should have 4-6 plays in their arsen...

Re: Leos/Als Keys to the Game
As LU noted in his weekly chat and confirmed in talking to Montreal DC Noel Thorpe, the Als are not generally a blitzing team since they changed their defensive scheme in midseason. They play the same style as Mark Washington's B.C. defence. That's an interesting way at looking at it. My sense of i...

Re: Leos/Als Keys to the Game
LU was just on 1040 and said that John Beck did not pass the concussion protocol this week (which explains Kevin G staying in last game), so it looks line our QB's will be Kevin Glenn, Travis1 and Travis2. Picking up the blitz from the outside by Lumbala is certainly a major key, but giving the QB s...

Re: Stampeders 33 - Lions 16 Post Mortem
Hi all, I'll add my 2 bits worth. I'm a seasons ticket holder and go to all the games and watch the away games on TV. I guess you could call me a Lions fan. I listened to the Moj post game show on Friday and have to agree with the frustration of the fans. Moj and Burnsy might be correct from a foot...

Re: Esks crush the Lions 37-3 -- Post Game Stats and Comment
Lowell Ulrich has provided a summary of this game in the online Province, much, much better than I could do, but his words echo my thoughts exactly. I wish I could embed the link, but its a must read. He uses the word "pathetic"..... correctly, and in the right context.

Re: Eskimos crush the Lions -- Post Game Stats and Comments
Well, it looks like the warts that have been obvious all season, but covered up the last three weeks, were laid bare for all to see. From Glenn playing on a "wing and a prayer" basis to Parks consistently being beat, it was a complete washout.... Sure, Soli got his mark, but I'd have been ...

Re: Lions 41 - Ottawa 3 -- Post Game Stats and Comments
Excellent summary Blitz. During the game, I said to my seat mate that some of the plays from our Leos were a surprise to me. And if I was surprised, then the Redblacks must have been too. I like the play action-misdirection plays and it was nice to see more of them. On the O-Line, I thought Jermarcu...

Re: Fire Khari Jones
The problem with a tread such as this one is that while it amy allow for some fan-venting, it doesn't really provide much of a direction ahead. So the Lions fire the OC and maybe the OL coach and receiver coach.... so what.... then you have to replace them with... who??? Yes, Bates might be a replac...

Re: TSN New Website is Crap!!!?? Is this just me? haha
I don't like the new TSN site either. I do not find it useful and am going there fewer and fewer times. I was pissed that they stopped making the games available as a video (after the broadcast) but figured it was part of their business model. I don't subscribe to cable so I don't watch TSN on TV. N...

Re: Leos/Stamps Keys to the Game
In comparison to Mitchell, we give up a little bit of height with both, but more importantly, we give up 25-30 lbs. Given the Stamps very good OL, this (replacement of Mitchell) could be one of the keys to the game by itself....
