Re: cameron wake
That's gotta be frustrating for the Dolphin's D. They played really well. All the Patriots points came off of turnovers and huge special teams plays.

Re: Ultimate CFL Expansion Plan For The Future.
Phase one will take at least ten years.
Phase two will take another ten.
Phase three seems unlikely in even fifty years.

Re: Lions By The Numbers
Two devil's advocate type comments: 1) I seem to recall Casey having fumble issues dating back to 04. He had key fumbles late in games early that year before he got hot. 2) Pitchouts to the short side of the field can work really well. Recall Ian Smart's td run in the 06 Grey Cup. If the defense is ...

Re: Some background on Brandon Sharpe
Seems like the "tweener" type player that can fall through the cracks in the NFL scouting system. Exactly the type of player an NFL team looks for to convert to an OLB in the 3-4, which is what it sounds like the Cowboys were trying to do with him. But, an NFL training camp/preseason is a ...

Re: just asking
The 3-4 seemed a little more popular in the CFL 5-10 years ago. I seem to remember that teams that relied heavily on the 3-4 had trouble stopping the run. Interestingly, NFL teams that use the 3-4 have no such problems. In fact, teams like the Ravens and Steelers use the 3-4 almost exclusively and h...

Re: Lulay to start against Bombers
Wise decision, Wally, for pulling Printers and giving Lulay a chance to shine. I personally would prefer Jackson to be called upon but any of the 2 QBs would be the better choice at this point in time. I'm not quite sure why Jackson isn't even considered to start next weeks game. I've always been a...

Re: just asking
Some good points being made here, just thought I'd chime in a little. When it comes to size on defense, NFL standards/stereotypes are different than the CFL. A linebacker up here is the size of a lot of safeties in the NFL. Our defensive ends are often the size of their linebackers. As far as Cam Wa...

Home and home with Winnipeg
Wow...big set of games coming up against Wpg. Possible scenarios: 1) Lions win both. BC is 6-8, Wpg is 3-11. 2) Split. BC is 5-9, Wpg is 4-10. 3) Lions lose both. BC is 4-10, Wpg is 5-9. BC did itself a huge favour with the surprising (to me, anyway) win over Calgary. After Wpg lost on Friday night,...

Re: About our "Look Throw Duck" passing attack ... and the Q
Given our defense is somewhere between good and great. Given our special teams (when they don't take penalties on every return) are more than adequate. Given we have a glut of talent at running back. What say we just run the frickin' ball, and instruct whichever QB the roulette wheel falls on to no...

Re: The real CFL season begins on Labour Day
It's true, and it seems to happen this way every year. Games before Labour Day will give you an indication of which teams might HOST a playoff game. Games after Labour Day will give you an indication of which teams might WIN some playoff games. To me this is part of the reason the home team doesn't ...

Re: Lions 29 - Stampeders 10 Post Game Stats and Comments
Yes, a running game. Exactly. Full credit to the defense. THe most impressive stat to me is that 25 yards rushing for Joffrey Reynolds. With the injuries BC has on the d-line, I was fully expecting them to give up at least 150 to him on the ground. But, they stuffed him, and when you take Calgary's...

Re: Lions sign import defensive end
Wow...what timing to be throwing rookies and newbies into the D-line, when they'll have to face Calgary's lethal ground game. Oh well...great opportunity for one of these guys to make a name for themselves...otherwise it's going to be a long night.

Re: Female Reporters in the Dressing Room - Revisited
I'm sure women wouldn't appreciate a male reporter working in their dressing room. Why do men have to have female reporters coming into their dressing room?
