Re: Mathieu Betts released by Detroit

The Detroit Lions have released former B.C. defensive end Mathieu Betts. He is a free agent if he decides to return to the CFL. https://www.si.com/nfl/lions/news/mathieu-betts-waived I know of another Lions team that could use him. Not suggesting this to be a panacea to cure all our defensive woes,...

Re: Update: Rourke re-signs with BC

Returning this year was not one of the scenario possibilities I envisioned. Definitely a good decision by Rourke, good for him. As for the Lions, I agree with whoever said they couldn't let a repeat of Flutie happen when he signed with Calgary. Only time will tell how good a decision this turns out ...

His chances are fading quickly. A QB injury call is by its very nature a temp position and unlikely to see any real opportunities. I'm at the point where it truly appears as if his NFL dreams, if not dead, are on life support.
Welcome to the club!

Re: Update: Giants release Rourke

But both Patriots and Giants (although they do have $40MM per year tied up in their QB1 - who is about as good as DeVito) are in serious need of a QB. If he can't get a legitimate look in either of those locations, he is either... 1. Not as good as he thinks he is 2. Being slighted for size and not...

Re: Update: Giants release Rourke

When there's a fork in the road, you get one chance to make a choice. Evidence seems to indicate he chose poorly if actually playing and growing his skills was something of interest to him, which I think it is. If only this was predictable. But if you really want to take one more NFL shot, I'd head...

Re: Update: Giants release Rourke

My opinion, is time moves in one direction only. There was a fork in the road. A. Double down on CFL greatness and continue to grow your skills. B. Take a chance on your NFL dream at the peril of doing nothing but atrophying your skills and aging with nothing on your resume except the long past, tal...

Eastern dominance?

Ok... perhaps dominance is a bit of an overstatement. But does anyone agree with my general premise? I'm 52 and my first football memory is when I'm about 4, I'm sitting on my Mom's knee and I ask her, "why do they all keep falling down?" After that, it's probably '78 season I first recall...

Re: The Last Two Games - What to do?

Until such time the Lions are mathematically eliminated from finishing first, play your starters. With the additional knowledge of how the Hamilton game went, there's no way I would play VA next game. Another use for math is to determine probability. I don't have exact numbers, but I know the proba...

If there's any consolation, this team would have stunk the joint out playing the western final on 2 weeks rest.

Next week will be interesting in Edmonton.
So you're saying I should not put my money on BC executing a third shutout of Edmonton this season? :tease:

Is it just me, or does it seem weird that our defense was unbeatable when our offense was functioning best? Coincidence or correlation?

Based on our ability ro dominate ahead and fade quickly if we fall behind, I'll predict a win if we score next.

Re: Thursday Night Football Scheduling Conundrum

I know BC got the short end of the stick with their Thursday game, but for the last few weeks, I think the schedule for these games has been really good. Team coming of the bye is always playing the team that came off the bye the week before. So neither team has a short week. Not saying other parts ...
